२०११ साली शिकागो येथे दि. २१ ते २४ जुलै दरम्यान आयोजित केलेल्या बृहन्महाराष्ट्र मंडळाच्या १५ व्या अधिवेशनाच्या भोजन समितीतर्फे आपणा सर्वांचे मनःपूर्वक स्वागत! उत्तर अमेरिकेतील मराठी बंधूभगिनींनी एकत्र यावे, मनोरंजक कार्यक्रम पाहावे, जिवाभावाच्या मित्रमैत्रिणींच्या भेटीगाठी व्हाव्यात आणि त्यांच्या सानिध्यात आठवणींना उजाळा देत देत मेजवानीचा आस्वाद घेत काही दिवस एकत्र घालवावेत हा या अधिवेशनाचा सरळ साधा उद्देश.
कार्यक्रमांच्या उत्कृष्ट व्यवस्थापनाबरोबरच तुमच्या जिव्हारसनेच्या आव्हानाला योग्य प्रतिसाद देण्याचा आणि आपल्या आदरातिथ्यात कुठेही कमी पडू न देण्याचा विडा शिकागोकरांनी उचलला आहे याची आम्ही तुम्हाला खात्री देतो. एरवी तोलून मापून खाणाऱ्या लोकांचे चेहरे अधिवेशनाच्या पंगतीचा थाट बघून नेहमीच उजळतात. आमच्या अधिवेशनाचा अनुभव सुद्धा याला अपवाद असणार नाही. विविध प्रकारचे सुग्रास पदार्थ ज्यात अस्सल मऱ्हाटी पाककृती तर असतीलच पण आमच्या शिकागोचा जगप्रसिद्ध पिझ्झा पण असेल. "पब्लिक डिमांड" ला प्रतिसाद म्हणून दिवसभर चहा, कॉफीची व्यवस्था आणि भव्य भोजनगृहात कमीतकमी रांगांची तरतूद करण्याचा आमचा कसोशीचा प्रयत्न राहील.
अधिवेशनासाठी McCormick Place ही अत्यंत योग्य निवड असली तरी तिथल्या परिसरात चालत जाण्याजोगे एकही रेस्टोरंट नाही. अधिवेशनाचे पॅकेज तयार करताना रजिस्ट्रेशन बरोबरच २२ ते २४ जुलै पर्यंतच्या दिवसात आठ सुग्रास जेवणांचा समावेश केला आहे. त्या मुळे अधिवेशनाच्या नोंदणीमध्ये कार्यक्रम आणि भोजन ह्यांचे प्रत्येकी शुल्क एकत्रितपणे आकारणे आवश्यक व अपरिहार्य ठरले आहे.
मिडवे एयरपोर्ट जवळील मिडवे हॉटेल कॉम्प्लेक्स मध्ये उतरणाऱ्या लोकांसाठी खास सोय म्हणजे सकाळचा नाश्ता त्यांना त्यांच्याच हॉटेल्सवर करता येईल. पर्यायाने लांब रांगा आणि सकाळची धावपळ टळेल.

Food Committee
We are honored to host the 15th BMM Convention on July 21-24, 2011 at McCormick Place in the historic city of Chicago. The Food Committee volunteers are putting together a fantastic menu with a tempting selection of spicy, savory and sweet dishes.

Food is always a big part of the convention festivities. Meals are times to gather with old friends, make new friends, and enjoy the culinary delights that evoke memories of your "Matrubhoomi".
Our menu will incorporate mouth-watering authentic delicacies from our own Marathi cuisine, Mumbai specialties, Gujarati, Rajasthani, South Indian and Indo-Chinese dishes. Kids will enjoy many of their favorite food choices, while healthy selections will appeal to many adults. Carefully selected combination menus which include vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes will offer a wide variety of flavors within a perfectly balanced meal.
Did we mention that Chicago is famous for “deep dish” pizza? We hope to have a few meals with our local Midwestern flavor as a treat to our guests. There is no need to go outside the convention to get a Taste of Chicago or Maharashtra. Convention attendees staying at the Midway Group of Hotels will have breakfast served right at their hotel. This will make it convenient to get a jump start on a day full of fun!
For your convenience, the convention package includes registration and meals. This allows access to all programs, breakfast and luncheon on July 22-24 and dinner on July 22-23. This will allow you to enjoy delicious food right at the convention venue along with uninterrupted entertainment. The reason to include meals in the convention package is the lack of proximity of restaurants to the convention center.
Before and after the convention, when you have more time for leisurely dining, be sure to visit the city's exciting and diverse restaurants.
